Basically, if you just play the game - you can NOT know that something is wrong and what to do next. If it's going to be a fix based on who bitches - at least the loading screen should be updated urging the players to contact support regarding this issue.

4 accounts, got 30 points on one.
Mixture of AM and EU.
Haven't logged with Support yet, waiting for a few days to pass.
They should stop TESTING stuff in LIVE and QA / TEST it properly beforehand. This has become really retarded.
If we continually screwed up like this in our company, we would have been RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed a long time ago with no clients left. Pretty much what has happened to GW , I guess.

I think this problem will be resolved after this weekend, so people give A-Net some room to breath.

I'm just going to wait a few days, support is probably already swamped with thousands and thousands of complaints so I'm just hoping they fix it for everyone without me having to bug them too.

complaints about free stuff lol, they should just close the XTH thing so people realize that they shouldn't have Q.Q'd bout it. Come on, there are a lot of other ways to get some money in-game...

Your optimisticism towards Anet shows that you're new to the game, the community, and the company. Welcome. Enjoy your stay while it last.
That, or you're just another BFB club member.

Go ahead. I dare them to do just that. This so-called "free stuff" is part of the game I PAID real money for. Besides, they created this whole thing in the first place to keep the game alive (CPR, if you want a medical term).
So if they want to admit their failure (would be the first time as they never admit to any of them in the past) and cancel the whole system, be my guest.

You didn't pay for any free updates they did (such as the XTH). Technically its not even an in-game feature. They could also have chosen for no-updates at all and then there was no XTH and no sorrow's furnace etc.

I feel that you have a lot of growing up to do kid. This isn't mommy and daddy where you just throw a little temper tantrum and get your way. This is how the real world works. There's problems, delays, and nothing is fair.
Let's say when you move out on your own; your lights go out for an hour. When you get your electric bill are you gonna throw a fit and demand a discount for that hour? You know what would happen? You'd get laughed at and disconnected...
Same goes for everyone who's pitching a fit over this. Chances are most of you are kids still living at home; the kind that sat down in the store and screamed for an hour when mommy wouldn't get you that candy bar.
You'll either change, or you'll be miserable the rest of your life.

Why do you think Anet made this feature available in the first place?
Kindness?
How naive.

I think that at least half the people that use two or more accounts in XTH have bought them JUST for the points.

It is not the same problem, it's another problem.

Yes they could, but they didn't. They are also allowed to remove the content if they wish, without prior notification.
But why would they want to do that?
How would they attract new players, and keep the older players happy, without new content?
XTH may cause problems, but they are working on it, and it made them a lot of extra money so far, with everyone buying extra accounts.
Also, we did pay for free updates, because Anet decided to give them out "free" and if you buy the game now, the updates are part of it, they make up the games you have.
If they wanted money for them, they would have asked for it (see make-over, storage and name change) and it would be an "option".
I think we should give Anet some slack. They work their asses off for us and all they get in return is: "it's gone wrong again, will you ever be able to do it right?" instead of "nice update, thank you for all the work you put into it".

You seem to understand that this is not a freebie being given out out of kindness. But you somehow went on and said that we should THANK them? What's next? Should we declare Anet day and build a statue/temple in Anet's name too?
I'm confused.

So is it optional, or do we absolutely have to send a support ticket in?

No, not at all.
But how would you feel, if you did something for someone, free of charge, wouldn't you like to hear a "thank you" from time to time? Instead of the QQ's after every update.

They shouldn't have screwed around with that. They screw around too much, and the last upgrade was worse than Windows Vista.

It wouldn't be the first time that a Community Relations Manager was misinformed about an issue. I'm not claiming that this is or is not the case here, just saying it's not outside the realm of reasonable explanations.

I really like the new interface. But the revision seemed to introduce a significant number of bugs (i.e., a whole lot more people not getting their points than usual). The introduction of the bugs far outweighs the interface, in my opinion. I did already indicate my appreciation for the new interface in another thread, should I add that to every single post I make on topic of the XTH?

Again, no you don't have to add it in every post, that's not what I'm saying. And no you don't have to say it after every update or what not.
There is a difference between QQ'ing and giving your opinion/likes/dislikes on an update.
"I don't like what they did with (insert update), it would have been better if they (insert other options)"
or
"You messed up again with (insert update), Anet, you suck"
are 2 totally different things.
It's quite normal things go wrong with updates, but at least they try to find a solution. They could just leave it as it is and don't give a damn about what you think, you already paid them anyway.

Electric bills are based on consumption, they are not a subscription based service. So if it goes out, you aren't paying anything because you aren't consuming. Also, I don't know where you live, evidently a place where there are no consumer rights laws, but in America ripping people off is kinda frowned upon. Many people (not myself, but still) purchased additional accounts specifically for this feature which is not working.
